Notes for the Hike:
- Luggage Transport: Luggage is transported daily from Point A to Point B in supplied plastic crates.
- Medical Kit: Basic medical/emergency kit for self-treatment is provided.
- Completion Certificates: Certificates awarded to all participants who complete the 101km hike.
- Back-Up Vehicle: A back-up vehicle will be available on the route daily.
- Meals:
Breakfast & Lunch: Served on-route every day.
Dinner: Served at guesthouses every evening. - Beverages: Drinking water, icy Oros, coffee, and tea are supplied on-route daily.
- No Littering: Please use the bin on the trailer.
- Gate Policy: Close all gates unless they were found open.
- Refreshments for Sale: Soft drinks, cappuccinos, lattes, and refreshments are available for purchase on the trailer.
- Free Coffee: The first coffee/cappuccino of the day is free; thereafter, R37 per cup. (Instant coffee is free all day.)
- Medical Scheme: It is advisable that all hikers have a current medical scheme membership, as any recovery costs (if applicable) will be for the hiker’s account.
- Supplies: Hikers must bring their own bandages, medication, and supplements.
- Vehicles: Vehicles will be parked at the endpoint (Allemanskraal) on the day of arrival. Please arrive before 16:00 to allow for parking (36km return drive).
- Children: Underaged children (minimum age: 16) must be accompanied by at least one parent.
Fees and Refund Policy:
- Cost: R7,500 per person (includes a long-sleeve branded T-shirt). Transport to and from Aberdeen is not included.
- Payment Deadline: All fees must be paid in full by 1 March 2025. Banking details will be provided.
- Group Size: Fees are based on a minimum of 9 participants. If fewer than 9 register, fees will increase.
Cancellations:
- Cancellation fees will only be refunded if a replacement is found and paid in full. If a replacement is not found full fees remain due.
- Refunds are not available for hikers who do not complete the hike due to injury or sickness.
Additional Information:
- Last Night’s Stay: Hikers who choose to leave after the last day’s hike are welcome to do so, but no refunds will be provided for the final night’s accommodation, dinner, or breakfast.
- Evacuation Costs: Hikers are responsible for any evacuation costs. Support will be provided as much as possible.
- Indemnity Forms: Must be signed during the welcoming evening.
- Personal Information: Blood group, allergies, and other relevant details will be collected before the hike.
